McArthur Library
Biddeford, ME – Biddeford Maine is a city with a unique history, and within it are 3 prominent haunts: The Biddeford textile mills, The Biddeford City Theater, and where we visited in this episode, McArthur Library. The Library has stood over 100 years, first as a church, and now houses some of the most important relics of the town within its attic. On this episode it was time for us to investigate it all.
Jeff Cabral, the library director, invited us to visit this vast building because of the amount of experiences his staff has had. Most of the staff don’t feel comfortable being in the library alone at night, and he reported that at least 2 custodial staff members have walked out on their shifts during the middle of the night. Visitors and staff alike have seen strange shadows and sounds, which seemed like circumstantial evidence so we rated it low to start.
With the addition of beefed up paranormal technology at our disposal, increasing the quality of our investigation, this was the first time we began dabbling in metaphysical techniques as well. With Ash and Katie having experience with occult knowledge, they worked together to warm up the rest of the investigators to some of the practices that would become a mainstay in future investigations yet to come. Katie especially worked well teaching her highly technical partners, Ty and Carol, about the different crystals she had brough and why they would help respond to the quartz the foundation of the library was built into.
Some of the evidence collected throughout the night was a photo anomaly from Shawn; an orb that he didn’t give much credence to. High K-II hits with call and response reacting with physical manifestations occured as well. Other physical manifestations included an acute burning in Ty’s ears as well, and a rash that broke out on the arm of one of our cameramen. One of the largest experiences was Katie seeing a dark shadow she had just assumed was a darkened area of the room, until it moved and revealed objects behind it that were previously hidden.
It was an interesting kick off for the season with a lot of different types of evidence for the investigators to work through. Though we threw out a lot of the evidence we collected, that was a good thing as we focused more on analyzing our experiences and not just being excited by them. From new technology and new metaphysical techniques, it was a wonderful start for the team to begin again
