Month: December 2017

Mercury Wed-New Moon Sunday

How do we heal? How can we try to heal ourselves when so many are suffering? How can we think about ourselves when the prison system is modern day slavery, when people in Puerto Rico still have no running water or roofs over their heads, people can’t afford their medicine, black men are being killed for being black, black women cant escape stereotypes, sex workers aren’t respected, people aren’t listening to women, etc? How can we heal? What does it even mean to heal? Healing in our modern society means that we are stable and strong enough to help and give to others that are suffering. Now is the time to be strong enough to give your time and money to causes that actually help people, careful of the Red Cross and Salvation Army. Now is the time to be a real ally. Pay attention to where you spend your money, especially at the grocery store. Look at the parent company of everything you buy. Chances are, they are one of the 5 major corporations giving money to our corrupt government, testing on animals, and supporting causes that are anti-lgbtq+, anti-people of color, anti-women, etc. Our government has proven that money is everything to them right now. Your money is your power. Support your local business. Support black-owned businesses. Support LGBTQ+ owned businesses. Go out of your way to put your money where your mouth is. It’s going to be inconvenient because that’s what society has done to us. It’s made our conviences contribute to causes that are against the people. Back to healing. Let us heal. Let us be the strong warriors in this fight of government vs the people. Strong minds, strong hearts, and strong wallets.

Do you see the little jasper frog in the picture of the cards? Frogs are a totem for healing and abundance. I’ve included this frog today because we’re experiencing a deep universal healing, and it will only get deeper at the end of the week when Saturn makes its shift into Capricorn for the first time in 30ish years. The healing process is hard. Troublesome situations come forward, people/situations from your past come forward, and it can feel like you’re being handed a series of bad luck. This is all  coming forward for you to deal with. On a larger scale, the mass reports of racism and sexism are coming forward to help us heal. We can’t get over a problem if we pretend it doesn’t exist. Pretending a problem doesn’t exist is oppressive to our souls. Let’s heal!

Take a deep breath. Ask the spirits around you what you need to heal. “What is my personal journey toward healing my soul?” Choose your card(s).

The Knight of Cups, “Sensual Oasis”

The Knight of Cups controls our dreams and cravings. This card wants us to transform our action through carnality. Our healing process comes through our lower chakras with this card, which is where the Dalmation Jasper comes in. This stone specializes in the lower chakras, and in helping our bodies tune into crystal/mineral energies. If you’re a person who has a hard time vibing with stones and crystals, this is a great stone to start you off. This will assist in the healing of your lower chakras, and this card wants you specifically in tune with your sacral chakra. What is your relationship with sex? It’s time to conquer the fears surrounding your sex life. If you have a partner, it’s time to have an open conversation with them about how you feel about your sex life. If you don’t have a partner, it’s time to address your trauma surrounding sex, even if you don’t look at your relationship with sex traumatic. Be completely honest with yourself. Address your carnal desires. It can be difficult to admit these desires to yourself, but there’s no better time than now. If you don’t know why this card has come forward for you, meditate on it. Bring the frog into your mind as you think deep about it. Let your mind inform you.

I ACCEPT AND LOVE MY DEEPEST DESIRES

The Four of Cups, “Luxurious Love”

The Four of Cups comes forward when we need help loving ourselves. It comes forward when we place blame on ourselves without giving ourselves a second chance. Look at this card. We’re seeing green life emerge upon the banks of the Nile and desert of Egypt. It is the most natural, harmonious process on this planet: life finding a way to thrive. This natural process comes with a sense of tenderness. Now isn’t the time to compare yourself to others. You are in your own journey. Do away with timelines. Maybe this isn’t where you saw yourself at this age, but you can’t decide those things for yourself. It’s not your job or anyone else’s to decide where and when you should be completing certain aspects of life. You are following your journey. Everything you want to happen, will happen with time. Accept yourself and your process. You can achieve balance and harmony with the soft, abundant life that love gives. The Snowflake Obsidion is a volcanic stone that grounds and protects. When we have certain things we need, it’s easy to get wrapped up in how we can make those things better. Be slow about spending money now. Ground yourself and take life da by day. If you have extra, consider giving it to people that have so much less.

AS NATURE FINDS BALANCE, SO DO I.

The Seven of Swords, “Pesky Influences”

The Seven of Swords comes forward when we are damning our own selves with negativity, or when others are coming at us with heavy negativity. Perhaps you don’t feel you deserve your success? Perhaps we feel like imposters? This card asks you to take credit for your hard work. This card asks you to wake your inner lion. Stand up for yourself. Know that you are exactly where you need to be and own it. Bringing selenite into your life will not only aid in healing, but it will protect against any psychic attacks. It will help protect against harsh words. Grabbing some carnelian couldn’t hurt as well.

I LISTEN TO THE GUIDENCE OF MY LOVING THOUGHTS

Wednesday, Mercury conjunct Saturn

We are fully saturated in Mercury Retrograde energetics by now, and before we know it, miscommunication is misfiring all around us. This week is about listening. It’s about putting what’s going on inside our heads aside and actually hearing the other person speak. We aren’t waiting for our turn to talk or to give advice. We are just listening. We are here to know what the speaker is truly saying. If you need to ask, “what did you mean by that?” Ask away. Ask all the questions you need to ask to fully understand what that person is saying to you. Don’t make assumptions this week. When it is your turn to talk, make sure the audience receives what you’re saying with perfect understanding. Saturn, the dad of the Universe, the teacher of hard lessons, is firing all cues with our communication. So, listen to what others are saying. Really listen. Don’t put your own spin on their voice. Gain new levels of understanding, and speak with clarity. Convey exactly what you’re feeling and what you need to say.

The calendula flowers you see around the cards are a great metaphysical tool to keep up with clear communication. They are also healing. They work well in skin care, if you need a new moisturizer, toner, mask, or something. Burn them with lavender flowers for an immediate response. (They don’t smell great on their own. I also like to burn them with cinnamon and copal resin.)

Now, take a deep breath. Hold your breath in for three seconds. Count it, 1 2 3. Let it out for three seconds. Count it. 1 2 3 Breath in for three seconds. 1 2 3 Hold for three seconds 1 2 3. Breath out for three seconds 1 2 3. (Read to yourself or out loud) These cards were chosen for me. I am the earth, the air, the fire, the water, and spirit. I am everything and everything is me. Now choose your card(s).

If you chose the card on the left with the Smokey Quartz, you got The Fool. If you chose the card in the center with the Barite, you got Justice. If you chose the card on the right with the Lapis Lazuli, you got the High Priestess. You may have noticed all three cards are from the Major Arcana. What was wild to me, was that I knew what each of them was before I flipped it over. When we consider the energetic shift we went through on Sunday, it’s not a surprise that we are seeing such intensities. December is a month that shapes our years to come. Every decision you make this month is making a greater decision for you. For example, when I chose to side with the local Queer Community instead of a local business, that decision will stick with me for the next couple of years. Especially if I keep choosing human rights over business. I will probably see myself  being reached out to by more people in the community, and when people think of me, they will associate me with that community. Sometimes we don’t think how small decisions will effect us in the long term, but for this month, especially, we should.

The Fool, The Hero’s Leap

This is the first card in the Tarot deck. It’s not number 1, it’s 0. This card signifies a total rebirth. New ways of thinking, of looking at life, new experiences, new, new, new. This card comes up when something BIG is on the horizon. For some of you it might be the separation of a partnership, and for others it might be a new spiritual outlook on life. Whatever it is, it’s changing the course of your life. The Unicorn on this card represents our purest self- free of fear, of inhibition, and predetermined ideas. Trust yourself and your instincts right now and surrender to the pull of the Universe. Communicate your needs clearly to who you’re severing ties with. Let them know exactly why you’re leaving.

I GIVE MYSELF TO THE GREAT UNKNOWN

*

Justice, Sushumna Root

If you chose Justice, you’re familiar with what I’m about to tell you. You’re being asked to live simply. Reduce the extremes in your life. Pack a lunch for work, and make your own coffee. Wake up earlier to stretch. Take time for self care. This is a time to mitigate financial stress and take care of yourself. Do less. Since Justice is the 8th card in the deck, it signifies that you need this reminder regularly. Maybe you like certain luxuries in your life, or you party hard on the weekends. This is a reminder to slow down a bit a live a little more simple, a time least for this month. Now is the time to redirect or temporarily avoid relationship conflicts, reduce workload, and simply, regulate the storms as you see fit. This is a time to strengthen for you. Communicate to everyone that you need some personal time. Get a massage, do a float tank, face mask, whatever helps the rejuvenation process is yours, but take time for home. Be in your home with both feet on the ground and provide for yourself. It will help ground you, and you’ll find decision making to be easier after a week of this.

I FIND BALANCE IN MY CORE, AND DON’T TAKE ON MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE.

The High Priestess, Guardian of Shadow Dreams

This card comes up to say that your strengths rely in the shadow. If you missed your opportunity to get to know shadow self during Scorpio season, then you have some work to do. If you spend lots of time confronting and trying to understand the darker sides of self, then you already know that it’s one of your strongest attributes. I work so closely with my shadow self and it does make you stronger when you admit to your deepest desires and own your faults. A misconception of the shadow, is that it’s bad. The shadows are ruled by the mother, the Moon  they are inherently divine feminine and can be examined using philosophy, music, or environmental studies. Your gut instincts are very powerful, and so are your dreams. Now is a good time to listen to your inner self and give it what it wants.
